Brief Background for the Success of Christmas at Hay House

after a month long of preparations, the Hay House officially opened its doors for the public viewers. This is for its annual Christmas Celebration last Dec. 1, Friday. The preparations include planning and implementations of creative decorations for the first three floors of the Hay House.

Planning this kind of event requires a lot of effort and skills from the experts. This is why the co-chairs of this Christmas at Hay House event has been recruiting great and well-experienced people. Experts in the field of interior design, floral design, artists who can greatly contribute to complete the design project.

To make this event happen for this year, 15 room designers have gathered. Amongst those who gathered, one works for the Hay House, and one for the organization of Junior League of Macon.

One of the designers Elliott James, a man Friday at the Hay House who serves as a docent, decorated the Old Kitchen. The Old Kitchen serves as a meeting area for the board of directors. He always kept in his mind the idea of simplicity. This is why James decided to use natural materials for the wreaths, some handmade yet creative ornaments for the trees.

Additionally, James also used ivy trees that have tiny bows or ribbons for the tables. James tries to lend a helping hand to his co-designers to accomplish the task especially when there are unexpected problems that may arise throughout the preparations.

Using some of the Christmas relics

Before starting this big project, the Christmas at Hay House, there must be an event coordinator who will rigorously handle all the needed preparations for this event. This includes the designers’ schedule, the needed materials and more.

Magnum decided to open the storage area located on the fourth floor. He then assigned some designers to check or look for antique, old Christmas decorations or ornaments that they can still use for decorating. Some of the designers offered their decorations to the Hay House. Once all the needed materials and supplies needed were gathered, the designers quickly started doing their work and express their talents and skills.

Designer’s crucial time has arrived

Only a few weeks left for the designers to finish and make some final touches or some additional decorations for the much awaited Christmas at the Hay House. Having little time left, designers did not waste a second. Everyone was busy and enthusiastic about decorating in their designated area. Talented designers like Lizzie Odom who wraps the walls for the master’s bedroom, Merrill who finishes the reception room.

Upon witnessing the outcome of the Christmas at the Hay House, it is safe to say that the crowd loved it. All the applause and appreciation from people around the world is worth every hectic effort.
